Recipe

  • 1 batch Grain-Free Cut-Out Sugar Cookies, cut into desired shapes, baked and cooled

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • About 2 ½ Tablespoons milk (pipeable consistency for intricate snowflakes, and a more spreadable/pourable consistency for flooding shapes)

  • Orange sprinkles for snowman noses
  • Nonpareils sprinkles or mini colored candies for snowman buttons
  • Melted chocolate for snowman hats
  • Coarse sugar (optional) to make snowflakes sparkle

Instructions

  1. Make icing by whisking powdered sugar and milk together. Check for consistency and add a little more liquid at a time until desired consistency is reached. Or you can use your favorite royal icing recipe.
  2. Pipe/spread icing to decorate cookies. While icing is wet, add sprinkles or coarse sugar to stick to icing.
  3. Let cookies sit until icing has set, about 12-24 hours.
  4. Enjoy with a warm cup of chai, apple cider, or eggnog or milk!
