Indulge in a slice of nostalgia with these grain-free magic cookie bars, made magically easy with our Grain-Free Ultimate Cookie Mix as the perfect base.
Also known as "Seven Layer Bars," these treats are layered with gooey chocolate chips shreds of coconut, and rich caramel taste. With Otto's you can enjoy this classic flavor chewy texture you love—minus the grains, gluten, dairy, or nuts. (But if you'd like, feel free to add chopped nuts to the topping!)
Perfect as an after-dinner treat or for sharing at family gatherings, these magic bars are easy to make, incredibly satisfying, and completely grain-free (though no one would be able to tell!)Â One bite, and you'll be transported back to your favorite childhood dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 bag Otto’s Naturals Grain-Free Ultimate Cookie Mix
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted dairy/non-dairy butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups dairy/non-dairy sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup dairy/non-dairy semisweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup dairy/non-dairy white chocolate chips (or substitute with butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, or another fun flavor!)
- 1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened works for this recipe)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Line a square 8-inch baking pan with parchment and set aside.
- Pour the melted butter at the bottom of the pan, then evenly scatter the cookie mix on top. Pour the condensed milk on top, then top with the chocolate chips and shredded coconut.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until lightly golden. If you notice is bubbling as it bakes, reduce the oven temperature to 120°C/250°F, and it should subside.
- Once cooled, slice into bars and enjoy!
*The recipe pictured was baked in a 6-inch baking pan. If you’d like to use a 6-inch baking pan, then divide the recipe in half and resume as normal.
