Grain-Free Tiramisu Brownies

Whisk me Free has discovered an easy way to mash up some of our favorite sweet treats. Brush brownies with coffee and top with a mascarpone cream for an elevated afternoon snack or easy dessert! A final dusting of cocoa powder transforms brownies made with our Grain-Free Brownie mix into a chocolatey rendition of a certain iconic Italian cake! Buon appetito! 

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 bag Otto’s Naturals Grain-Free Brownie Mix (Classic or Paleo)
  • ½ cup neutral oil
  • 2 eggs (or use egg substitution on package)
  • ¼ cup brewed coffee (for brushing)

Cream Filling

  • ¾ cup dairy-free or regular heavy whipping cream
  • ¾ cup dairy-free or regular mascarpone
  • 4 Tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F and line an 8x8-inch square baking tin with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Mix together the brownie mix, oil and eggs until smooth.
  3. Transfer the batter to the prepared tin and bake for 30-40 mins.
  4. As the brownie cools make the mascarpone topping, by whisking together heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Then add the mascarpone and sugar and whisk until smooth.
  5. Brush the brewed coffee over the cooled brownie.
  6. Spread the Mascarpone cream over the brownie and create swooshes with the back of a spoon or spatula. 
  7. Dust generously with cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy!
